A Journey of Faith, Family, and Service

Hello,

Welcome to my blog, a place where we’ll share insights, reflections, and updates about life, faith, and everything in between.

For over 70 years, I’ve been blessed to be a practicing member of the Muslim community. My journey began when I was just 11 years old, studying Arabic and Islamic studies. From my early days with Professor Jamil Diab to my lifelong friendship with Imam W. Deen Mohammed, I’ve learned that faith isn’t just something you practice—it’s a way of life that continuously shapes every moment.

Today, I serve as the Director of Muslim Affairs at RUSH Hospital, a role that allows me to help others find comfort, understanding, and peace, no matter what challenges they face. It’s a privilege to guide people through their personal journeys, much as I’ve been guided through mine.

Family has always been at the core of my life. It’s where my roots are, and it’s where my strength lies. Watching my children, grandchildren, and community thrive brings me joy beyond words. These moments remind me of what truly matters—connection, love, and support.

As we continue to navigate the challenges and opportunities of today’s world, I encourage you to remember the limitless possibilities in front of you. Life isn’t just about reaching the destination—it’s about cherishing the journey.

Stay tuned for more updates, thoughts on life, and reflections from my experiences. I look forward to connecting with you all and sharing this space for growth, learning, and service.
